Kipum Lee


Kipum Lee, PhD, leads UH Ventures at University Hospitals in Ohio, USA, where he drives revenue growth, invests in early-stage technologies, shapes enterprise strategy, and promotes innovation through institution-building and human-centered design.

Kip is also an educator with two faculty appointments at Case Western Reserve University. As an Assistant Professor within the Department of Design & Innovation at the Weatherhead School of Management (WSOM) and Department of Medicine at the School of Medicine, he promotes and participates in innovation discovery and experimentation through transdisciplinary research and practice.

Earlier in his career, he was part of a mobile health project in South Africa recognized by The Economist as “the world’s largest field trial in mobile health technology” and served as the product architect for Marriott Mobile, a leading global mobile commerce platform. Dr. Lee holds degrees from the University of Pennsylvania, Carnegie Mellon University, and Case Western Reserve University, and serves on several boards, including Design Issues, the premier design and innovation journal published by MIT Press.
