Delivering Results, Innovation and Value in Execution

Building on the Weatherhead School of Management's decades-long legacy of advancing the business of healthcare, Case Western Reserve University proudly introduces DRIVE—a next-generation healthcare learning experience designed to help senior leaders turn strategic priorities and organizational challenges into real-world solutions and measurable impact.

Bring us your challenge. Build your solution.

DRIVE is an immersive action-learning experience designed for senior and executive-level healthcare leaders who are ready to move strategic priorities into action. Throughout the program, participants work on a real initiative from their own organization while applying frameworks in leadership, innovation, and design thinking to develop practical, implementation-ready solutions.

What you will walk away with

This is not a theoretical exercise. You will work on a real challenge from your own organization throughout all eight courses, graduating with a tested intervention or a well-specified new program or service concept—complete with evidence, financial justification, and a clear implementation pathway. Your final deliverable is a professional presentation and executive brief ready for C-suite or board-level review.

Lead with purpose

Inspire alignment and momentum across diverse stakeholders.

Diagnose with precision

Identify root causes and frame challenges as strategic opportunities.

Design viable strategies

Build financially sound, operationally feasible solutions that advance patient outcomes and workforce engagement.

Implement effectively

Manage resistance and activate collaboration across clinical and administrative teams.

Evaluate and communicate impact

Translate outcomes into clear, compelling narratives for any audience, from frontline staff to boards.

Your Strategic Initiative: one focus, nine months

Your Strategic Initiative is the center of gravity for everything you do in DRIVE. From the first day of the program to the final presentation, you advance a real challenge your organization needs to solve—building the evidence, designing the strategy, and developing the implementation pathway to take it forward. Across eight courses delivered over nine months, you move beyond theory and apply action learning, innovation, and design thinking through a guided process of discovery, problem-solving, testing, and refinement. The program does not give you a project. You bring one. And you leave with something your organization can act on, as well as the ability to apply the skills learned to future challenges and initiatives.
