Scott G. Isaksen, , PhD

Scott Isaksen is a Weatherhead Affiliate Instructor, and the President of the Creative Problem Solving Group, Inc., where he also serves as Senior Research Fellow of its Creativity Research Unit. Isaksen was a professor and director of the International Center for Studies in Creativity at the State University of New York, and currently serves as a Professor of Organizational Leadership and Management at the Norwegian School of Management. He has published over 190 articles or chapters in a variety of academic journals, popular publications, and books. He has written or edited The Handbook of Creative Learning (1982), Creative Problem Solving: The Basic Course (1985), Frontiers of Creativity Research: Beyond the Basics (1987), Identifying and Recognizing Creativity (1993), Nurturing and Developing Creativity (1993), Creative Approaches to Problem Solving (1994, 2000, 2010), Facilitative Leadership: Making a difference with CPS (2000) and Meeting the Innovation Challenge: Leadership for Transformation and Growth (2006).

Since 1982, Isaksen has conducted more than 2,300 programs, courses, and workshops and worked with over 200 organizations and groups in more than 36 states and 26 different countries. He was awarded the State University of New York Chancellor’s Award for Excellence in Teaching.

Isaksen is a Member of the Association for Psychological Type, the Product Development Management Association (PDMA) and the American Psychological Association (APA). He has served on the Editorial Boards of the Journal of Creativity Research and Creativity & Innovation Management, and has served as a consulting editor for the Journal of Creative Behavior since 1983.

His work on creative leadership has been included in numerous international leadership development programs for Exxon-Mobil, IBM, GE, Ogilvy & Mather, Oxford University, PricewaterhouseCoopers, and other major global organizations.
