Jessi Hinz is a fourth-year PhD candidate at the Weatherhead School of Management, Case Western Reserve University. Her research focuses on the intersection of positive relationships at work and positive identity development. In particular, Jessi is interested in how people grow through their relationships at work. Her research has explored growth which stems from positive events (e.g., receiving gratitude, engaging in a coaching relationship, listening) as well as negative events (e.g., personal loss). Jessi's dissertation study focuses on individuals’ experiences of navigating personal loss and grief in the workplace.

Jessi has taught for several years including a course on Human Resources Management at Case Western Reserve University which led to being nominated for the Weatherhead undergraduate teaching award in spring 2019.
