Jeff is an innovative thinker and strategist, assisting individuals and executives with the ideation and creation of new opportunities both personally and professionally. Passionate about executive and leader wellbeing, Jeff’s research focuses on people in helping professions (executive directors, pastors and doctors). As the Director of Innovation Communities at the number one cancer in the US and an active volunteer with several nonprofit organizations, he sees first hand the issues they face. Jeff is married to a marriage and family therapist, Stephanie, and owns more dinosaur t-shirts than any grown man should (they are favorites of his preschool aged boys Wesley and Colton).

Interests and Courses


I am currently interested to understand if there is any connection between the performance of an organization and the health of its employees. Can this relationship be programmatically found, tracked and/or predicted with current data and case-based or cognitive technology? We know “employee engagement” drives “growth,” but is a well performing company (revenue, profit, stock price, assets, etc.) doing so at the expense of its workers’ wellbeing (mental, emotional, spiritual, financial, etc.)? Conversely, if the employees are “well,” does the organization do “well”? Since most organizations follow top-down leadership, I am most interested in studying the wellbeing of the C-Level executives. Starting with nonprofit organizations, value based leaders in mission based organizations are typically willing to give more of themselves for the benefit of the constituents. I am attempting to express this in algorithmic or programmatic form to be able to suggest factors that make healthier leaders who then produce a more successful organization which leads to better outcomes for their constituents and those they serve.
