Weatherhead MBA students compete for “Most Innovative MBA Team” title.

Posted 10.19.2006

Thirteen Weatherhead MBA students divided among three teams are competing to be the world’s “Most Innovative MBA Team” at the upcoming 4th Annual Innovation Challenge. Hosted this year by the University of Virginia’s Darden School of Business, the 2006 Innovation Challenge pits 441 teams from top MBA schools against each other as teams develop solutions for real-world business challenges faced by global companies.

The competitors submitted their concept plans in early October, which are then judged by a panel. Finalists are announced in late October and the final round of competition is held at UVA in mid-November.

Last year, Weatherhead entered one team in the contest, which placed third out of 323 teams. Looking to demonstrate Weatherhead’s innovative prowess again this year, the following students are competing:

Team Whirpool: Matt Baird, Julie Fratus, Frank Griffiths, Jeff Malbasa, and Stan Mimota

Team M&M’s: Christina Heinrich, Andy Male, Hugh Slater, and Dan Weiss

Team American Express: Michael Bush, William DiMenna, Jessica Fox, and Natalie Nichols

Please join us as we wish all three teams good luck!
