Jointly organized by the Cleveland Museum of Art and the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, in association with the Museu Nacional d’Art de Catalunya in Barcelona, Spain, this is the first exhibition in North America to examine a remarkable 71-year period (1868–1939) when Barcelona transformed itself from a city of provincial culture into one of Europe’s most dynamic centers of modernist art and architecture.

See masterworks borrowed from museums and private collections around the world, including many from the Cleveland Museum of Art’s own permanent collection.
