The Weatherhead School undergraduate class of May 2007 will have a unique opportunity for recognition and distinction involving the selection and induction into a new organization, The Wolstein Society. The Society is being formed to recognize outstanding undergraduates who represent the spirit of enterprise as demonstrated by leadership, scholarship, community service and professional will, the prized attributes of effective and successful individuals. The organization has been named in honor of Iris S. and Bert L. Wolstein, benefactors of Wolstein Hall, and supporters of undergraduate education in the Weatherhead School.
The individuals who were invited for consideration were selected based upon the deliberation of a faculty and staff who selection panel during the spring term, 2006. The students nominated were identified and requested to respond as to their interest in supporting the goals and activities of the organization. On October 5, 2006 an induction ceremony recognizing the seventeen student charter members will be held on the Case campus and will include comments and participation by Iris Wolstein, Scott Wolstein and Dean Mohan Reddy.

During the Academic year the members will participate in the Leaders on Leadership Series as part of their network building project. They will also commit to a service activity and serve to establish and review selection criteria for the induction of society members for the Fall of 2007. The organization will be led during the year by a group of three members who have accepted responsibility for convening meetings of the group, Eric McKinley, Aliscia Zak and Stan Garber.
