Last month U.S. News & World Report released its annual rankings issue, America’s Best Colleges 2007. Within this issue is a ranking of Best Undergraduate Business Programs, in which Weatherhead moved from 30th in the 2006 ranking to 29th in the 2007 ranking. Weatherhead placed into a cohort of five other schools, including Boston College, Texas A&M University (College Station), University of Florida, University of Georgia and Wake Forest University.

The fall semester revealed that overall headcount in Weatherhead undergraduate courses was up 10% over last year. This semester Weatherhead undergraduate programs are offering 71 sections of business courses including multiple sections of Weatherhead’s SAGES offerings.

On Friday, September 8th Beta Alpha Psi and the Case Career Center hosted the annual Meet the Accountants Breakfast in Wolstein Hall. The event brings together accounting students, both B.S. in Accounting and Master of Accountancy, and employers seeking students with accounting backgrounds, allowing students to network with several firms in one location. Frequently, the firms send representatives who are alumni of Weatherhead helping to build not only our employer relationship, but our alumni relationship as well. In total, 100 students registered for the event and 17 employers were present.

The Weatherhead Office of Undergraduate and Integrated Study Program Services also welcomed a new member in September, Heidi Bocan.  Although new to Weatherhead, Heidi is not new to the University and her experience is sure to positively impact the administration of the Weatherhead undergraduate programs.
