Grants provide support for Healthcare Executive Education Programs
Posted 9.6.06The Saint Luke's Foundation and the Ohio Department of Mental Health provide generous grants for leaders in the healthcare industry to participate in Executive Education.
Once again this year, Weatherhead Healthcare Executive Education received grant support for two of its programs.
The Saint Luke’s Foundation provided 10 scholarships for physicians serving the low income population of Cleveland to attend the Physician Executive Institute.
The Institute, started in 1996, provides the core skills and knowledge needed to enhance physician management and leadership effectiveness. The Institute offers sessions in various areas of healthcare management, as well as sessions in emotional intelligence, communication, negotiation and value creation.
The Ohio Department of Mental Health has provided grant funding to subsidize the cost for mental health leaders attending the Mental Health Executive Leadership Program.
Initially directed by Dr. Rob Kauer and renamed in his memory, 18 participants are selected each year from mid-career applicants working within Ohio's public mental health system: This multidisciplinary applicant pool includes physicians, psychologists, social workers, nurses and others who have attained management positions but often come from a clinical background.
