Career Services: “A one stop shop destination”

Similar to a Wal-Mart, Target, and Costco, Weatherhead Career Services Office is a “one stop shop” for the student’s career development needs. The office is staffed with professional career consultants who bring broad industry experience and assist students from the time they first arrive on campus through graduation.
Weatherhead second year MBA student Megan Marsick commented on her resume review experience, “Regina Olbinsky (Interim Director of Career Services) totally revamped my resume to be more professional and a better tool to showcase my abilities. It’s amazing what she did. I have highly recommended the career services office to many of my classmates.”
Not only does the Weatherhead Career Services Office prepare students for their careers, but also brings the companies directly to the students. During this recent school year, the office brought twice as many companies to campus in comparison to last year. Companies that visited campus include: McKinsey & Company, IBM, National City, KeyCorp, Cardinal Health, UBS, Progressive, American Greetings, and Sherwin Williams. 2006 MBA candidate and future employee of American Greetings, Robert Bond said, “I was pleased with the number of opportunities available through the Career Services Office; not only through the online postings, but also the contacts and referrals available through the existing relationships the Office has developed with local companies."
Many students have capitalized on meeting with these companies by landing excellent job offers. Accelerated MBA student Steve Donatelli mentioned, “Through on-campus interviews, and information sessions put on by the Career Office, I was able to make great contacts with a lot of different companies. Ultimately, the job offers I received from both Progressive and Target were initiated by attending information sessions those companies scheduled at Weatherhead.”
In addition to helping students obtain fulltime career positions, the Weatherhead Career Services Office also works with students to attain internship opportunities. 2006 MBA Candidate Adrian Furman discussed his internship seeking experience, “Looking for an internship in a specialty industry is very difficult. After meeting with Jill Gibson, Weatherhead Career Consultant, she put me in contact with several individuals in the industry that helped me land a great internship opportunity.”
