Graduate School is about many things – managing five projects at once, networking, sleeping, AND HAVING A LIFE!!! That's why GBSA has a calendar full of activities.
Graduate School is about many things – managing five projects at once, networking, sleeping, AND HAVING A LIFE!!!
To address that last point, Sam Harpold (GBSA VP Social & Cultural Affairs) and Shelley Plas (GBSA Social Chair) have begun to put together some exciting activities over the next few months. Student elections will be held soon to elect a 1st year Social Representative to assist Sam and Shelley in making sure that Weatherhead students have a good time in addition to getting a great education!
One of the first student-only events (that was wildly popular last year) is the Good Time III Cruise on September 23. The cost per student is $5 and will last from 6pm to 8pm. The Good Time III will take a tour of the city by cruising the Cuyahoga River and Lake Erie. The cruise also includes dancing and a cash bar. There are an unlimited number of spaces available, but signup sheets have been posted near the lockers. Please plan on attending and having a great time!
Also, please plan to attend Beers of the World on September 29, a special event to to raise money for Hurricane Katrina relief efforts. All Weatherhead students, faculty and staff are invited to our monthly happy hour to support this cause and network and socialize!
Other events are in the planning stages and include a bowling tournament (attended by over 60 Weatherhead students last year!), comedy club, international dancing night, Cleveland Cavaliers game, and many others. Please read e-mails from GBSA or check the online school calendar at for more information on upcoming events!
