In October 2010, the Center for Professional Selling at Baylor University joined the Journal for Personal Selling and Sales Management (JPSSM), the leading international journal dedicated to publishing research on selling and sales management, to celebrate their 25th and 30th anniversaries, respectively. As part of the event, 50 leading international sales scholars were invited to participate in a research symposium to develop articles for the special anniversary issue of JPSSM that is planned for publication in June 2011.
Gary Hunter, PhD, was among the invited sales scholars who participated in the symposium. His research team’s continuing effort focuses on the growing importance of “strategic account management” to firm performance and seeks to develop a framework that integrates overlapping, but sometimes divergent literatures on national and key account management.
In addition to the special issue in JPSSM, the research will become part of a pre-conference event at the 2011 Academy of Marketing Science to be held in Coral Gable, Florida next May.
