Journal of Corporate Citizenship and World Inquiry (10 hrs / wk) The Fowler Center for Sustainable Value at the Weatherhead School of Management seeks a graduate student to assist the editorial and administrative team of the Journal of Corporate Citizenship (JCC) and the World Inquiry (WI) bank of case studies demonstrating best practices in corporate sustainability and corporate social responsibility. For the JCC, this position will assist in managing the pool of reviewers and developing the group of contributing authors. Specific duties will include researching backgrounds of potential and current reviewers and identifying individuals from the reviewer pool to evaluate specific papers submitted to the JCC. Additionally, the intern will research prior work of academic authors submitting papers to the JCC, and will identify additional academic authors, whose research is aligned with the topics and issues addressed by the Journal, to recruit for paper submissions. The intern will provide feedback, as needed, to editorial team on submissions and editorial pieces. Advanced communication and writing skills are at the core of a successful candidate for this position, as are analytical and research skills.
E-Marketing and Social Media (10 hrs / wk) The Fowler Center for Sustainable Value at the Weatherhead School of Management seeks a graduate student with an interest in sustainability, social media, and marketing to manage several online media and networking outlets, representing the Fowler Center and its activities. Specific responsibilities include maintaining the Fowler Center’s Twitter site, updating tweets regularly, and insuring Weatherhead’s LinkedIn account reflects current information and activities of the Center. Moreover this position will be responsible for inter-linking all posts, tweets, and blog entries by Fowler Center staff with other Center-related sites, like the Center’s homepage, the Executive Director’s website, Weatherhead’s LinkedIn account, and staff LinkedIn accounts. Additionally, this position will research websites aligned with the Fowler Center’s mission and activities, identifying opportunities for the Center to link to the site or contribute content. Finally, skills in data tracking and reporting are necessary; to monitor hits, re-tweets, and feedback on Center related sites. Candidates must be fluent in online networking and social media, with skills for linking and tracking data associated with social media. Given the focus of this position, only those candidates with excellent English grammar, writing, and proofreading skills will be onsidered.
Special Projects (10 hrs / wk) The Fowler Center for Sustainable Value at the Weatherhead School of Management seeks a student interested in corporate social responsibility and sustainability to assist with the management and administration of the Center’s growing special projects including but not limited to benchmarking progress, building sustainability into the MBA curriculum, United Nations Global Compact, and Sustainable Cleveland 2019. The intern will work with Weatherhead leadership annually to collect and analyze the School’s curriculum, faculty publications, and research activities, for inclusion in higher education sustainability evaluations such as the Campus Sustainability Report Card and the Aspen Institute’s Grey Pinstripes. As needed, the intern will also assist the Fowler Center staff in administering Sustainable Cleveland 2019 and the United Nations Global Compact meetings, including support activities like communicating with participants, assembling AI kits, organizing nametags, and so on.
