GBSA's president message
Posted 9.17.07Summary message and preview of exciting things to come from Whit Tice, president of the Graduate Business Student Association (GBSA).
The school year has started at a quick pace. GBSA has started off sprinting. There have been a number of great things happening and a lot more to come.
A few big events that are harbingers for upcoming energy and involvement in the Weatherhead School happened in September. The GBSA officer election has been concluded at the end of September and the new officers will be getting involved. Please congratulate the new officers and provide them with your insight, feedback and energy so that can be spread throughout the entire GBSA. The Club Fair introduced the different clubs and activities that will occur at the school. So many great things happen because of the club leadership. They’ll be happy to get people involved in their events so be on the lookout for what is happening.
Many ongoing events started and will continue in October. The first Break From Business As Usual was quite successful. A number of students, faculty and staff attended. Look forward to the next Break From Business As Usual this month. The GBSA General Assembly, the Bar of the Week, and Monday’s Bite events all began with a lot of attendees and energy. Let's keep up the energy as we continue this semester.
So what is the big stuff that's happening this month? It is one word, one event, and one experience that is called “Weatherheadless.” This is huge. Let me say that again. This is huge. Last year the Weatherheadless costume ball rocked the foundation of the Peter B. Lewis Building and it promises to do it again this year. Vice President of Social and Cultural Activities Jesse Corn has been working hard to make it bigger and better this year. Look forward to that event with a lot of anticipation on the night of the October 27.
For those who have just arrived in Cleveland, be sure to be prepared for the upcoming winter. Post-It has some advice on how to prepare.
Do you have something that you'd like to share with GBSA or the Weatherhead School? Post-It is the site designed just for that very purpose. I’ve noted some areas of interest above, but that's not all that Post-It has and with each new posting, the value of the site grows. We, as GBSA officers, would also welcome your ideas, interest and feedback so feel free to contact us with your thoughts. Feel free to e-mail me.
