This school year is rapidly coming to an end. With the completion of finals, paper, and projects students are looking forward to vacations, jobs, internships, nicer weather, and more. Before that happens though, we have much to celebrate.
Congratulations to the class of 2007! Your success, achievements, and character will soon make an impression upon the world outside of Weatherhead. Come May 20, you will take the next step in your Weatherhead experience as you travel from being a student to being an alumnus.
Special thanks go out to all of the students who have shown their leadership and dedication during their time at the Weatherhead School. Lynnette Jackson, our GBSA president during the 2006-2007 school year, has lead the outstanding GBSA team over this past year and the school has seen many great events and happenings because of the GBSA team and support from the school's staff.
Earlier this semester, the upcoming GBSA team and I were elected to represent the Weatherhead graduate students. It is my pleasure to undertake this role and I hope to do much in the coming school year. I will certainly not be alone in this regard. Many students have taken up the role of leadership and have already taken steps to build upon the strengths of the Weatherhead School. Our upcoming GBSA team in the 2007-2008 school year is as follows:
VP of academic and student affairs – Mariryn Pongpudpunth
VP of social and cultural affairs and Casino Night chair – Jesse Corn
VP of student organizations – Erin Brant
VP of finance – Dhanesh Shah
VP of communications – Dionne Braddix
Alumni affairs representative – Charles Stein
Community service chair – Leah Martinez
International representative – Tien-Hsing Chang
Joint degree representative – Will Eadie
Professional council representative – Karen Mateleska
Social chair – Yueh-Yin Chen
SLC chair – Nithin Kalvakota
GBSA advisor – Tim Slager
Have a great summer everyone and, once again, congratulations to our graduating class.
