In Student Services "March Madness" describes a flurry of activities centered around firming up enrollment for the incoming fall class.
Student Services survived "March Madness," the flurry of activities centered on firming up enrollment for the incoming fall class. We are currently corresponding with a large number of full-time M.B.A. applicants as they seek to determine which school they will attend next year. Our role in this process is to advise applicants how the Weatherhead School would support their future educational plans. As you might imagine, students weigh everything from financial aid to geographic location when choosing a school and our office helps along the way. In the case of the full-time M.B.A. program, Graduate Advisor Brooke Novak and Program Director Jon Fuller are the primary points of contact for prospective students. Brooke and Jon spend a great deal of time answering questions and this high degree of personal attention helps distinguish the Weatherhead School from other schools.
This high touch approach seems to be working effectively as evidenced by the fact that deposits for next year's full-time M.B.A. program are currently running 240% ahead of the same time last year. A similar trend is seen in the upcoming MSM fall class which has received 200% more deposits versus this time last year. The increase in MSM deposits is no doubt due to the recruiting efforts of Graduate Advisor Cassie Solis and Program Director Kevin Malecek who have made numerous recruiting presentations to local undergraduate institutions. Similar gains have been made in the new MS-Finance program, supported by Program Director Deborah Bibb, which has already attracted a nice cohort for its inaugural class.
In addition to recruiting events outside of the school, we hosted a number of visit days and information sessions for prospective students. Since the beginning of the year, we have welcomed prospective students to the Peter B. Lewis Building for six Visit Days and eight Information Sessions. I always welcome support and suggestions from the Weatherhead community about how our enrollment efforts may be even better!
