Weatherhead Students,

Spring is here; we have moved our clocks ahead, returned from spring break and registered for graduation --  now we just need the weather to cooperate. Since we are in the spirit of change it is my pleasure to announce the new GBSA leadership team. Please join me in congratulating and wishing them well.

2007-2008 GBSA Executive Board
President -- Whit Tice
VP of Academic and Student Affairs -- Mariryn Pongpudpunth
VP of Finance -- Dhanesh Shah
VP of Social and Cultural Affairs -- Jesse Corn
VP of Communications -- Dionne Braddix
VP of Student Organizations -- Erin Brant

This year Sunday, May 20 will be our Day of Celebration. The day will begin with the university wide commencement ceremony at 9 a.m. Following this ceremony from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. we will have a brunch and awards ceremony at the Peter B. Lewis Building, so that families traveling from out of town can share in the celebration of the student awards. There will be a small window of free time for family and guests. The Botanical Garden has extended $2 entry discounts to students and their guests. The Weatherhead School graduation ceremony will begin promptly at 4:30 p.m. at Veale Center and will conclude at 6 p.m.

Ed Badstuber and I decided to start a new tradition -- a Graduate Appreciation Booklet. 2007 Weatherhead Graduates, this is your opportunity to say thank you to your family, wish congratulations to your classmates, explain how the Weatherhead School has shaped your career, and/or make any other comments. If your family or friends would like to make a page for you, we would welcome that as well. The Graduate Appreciation Booklet is an opportunity for you to purchase a page and customize it any way you want (as long as it is professional). The booklets will first be distributed during the Annual Report awards ceremony (May 4). Booklets also will be available during the Weatherhead Day of Celebration at the Peter B. Lewis Building.

We want the first annual Appreciation Booklet to be a huge success, so if you would like to participate, we ask that you contribute $15 (per page) toward the cost of producing this booklet. If you are interested, payment and your page must be submitted by April 16.

We look forward to your active engagement in these and other club events this year. We also welcome your comments and suggestions. Your GBSA team is always open to programming ideas and opportunities, so feel free to reach me at
