With a focus of investing in strong leadership, Dealer Tire and KeyBank have chosen to support future business leaders at Weatherhead through two important scholarship opportunities. The Dealer Tire Scholarship to support graduate students interested in Business as an Agent of World Benefit and the KeyBank Social Entrepreneurship Endowed Scholarship Fund will be available to students pursuing graduate degrees at Weatherhead beginning this fall.
Each scholarship opportunity supports students dedicated to socially responsible business practices and a concern for the communities their work impacts.
“As a successful business, we know the importance of having strong leadership," said Cindy Stull, Partner and Chief Sales Officer, Dealer Tire. "We have hired several Weatherhead graduates and they’ve been excellent additions to our team."
Stull understands the importance of educating the next generation of leaders who will steer not only businesses, but also their communities.
"We believe in being a socially responsible company that invests in people, the community and our planet. We hope that the students who benefit from our gift will gain that same sense of responsibility and recognize the importance of paying it forward to help develop the next generation of leaders."
"At KeyBank, our purpose is to help our clients and communities thrive," said Katrina M. Evans, MBA ‘98, BS ’86 Executive Vice President & Director of Corporate Center KeyCorp"We are proud to make impactful investments such as this scholarship. These students have a passion for social entrepreneurship and will gain invaluable experience and a strong skill set that will allow them to create shared value and ongoing positive outcomes for both our neighbors and neighborhoods."
Evans notes the future outcomes of students who see business through a socially responsible lens. "These students are our future leaders who will improve sustainability measures across all businesses and have the opportunity to harness these skills that will make great progress toward the United Nations Sustainable Development goals," said Evans.
