Every year, the finance department holds an award ceremony to recognize its outstanding students, in the categories of leadership and academic excellence. This year, student Jilong Liu received the Student Leadership Award and Jingjing Jia was named an Outstanding Student in Finance.
Faculty members within the department come together to choose the recipient of the Outstanding Student in Finance award, which is given to a graduating student who exhibits academic excellence within the MSM-Finance program.
“Jingjing is an enthusiastic student always willing to learn, always asking questions, always inquisitive, and always thinking outside the box,” said Peter Ritchken, professor of banking and finance. “She is an ideal student that participates actively in class. She is very responsible, careful in her work, and completely reliable.”
The Student Leadership Award receives nominations from graduating MSM-Finance students and is awarded to a student who serves as a leader and role model. The recipient also promotes the MSM-Finance program and the Weatherhead image in a positive way, contributes to the total community and stimulates the classroom experience.
Jilong’s classmates praised him for his creative thoughts, communication skills, leadership abilities and management expertise.
