Fowler Center’s AIM2Flourish Initiative Announces 2019 Flourish Prizes Finalists

Posted 2.15.2019

The Fowler Center’s AIM2Flourish initiative is proud to announce the 76 Finalists for the 2019 Flourish Prizes.

Hosted at the Fowler Center, AIM2Flourish offers the world’s first higher-education curriculum, story platform, and recognition program for the next generation of leaders to use business as a force for good: Business students around the world are using Appreciative Inquiry (strength-based interviews) and the UN Global Goals as a lens to search out and report on world-changing innovations.

As part of our mission to demonstrate the power of Business as an Agent of World Benefit, each year we honor the best-of-the-best stories with 17 Flourish Prizes - one for each UN Sustainable Development Goal. The stories recognize the intergenerational accomplishments of the student-author(s), the professor who oversaw the story’s publication, and the business leader interviewed for the story.

The 76 Finalists for the 2019 Flourish Prizes represent exemplar stories from the more than 800 stories we published in 2018, spanning the globe and showcasing business innovations for each of the 17 UN Global Goals. The 2019 Flourish Prizes Finalists include 76 stories from 30 universities in 16 countries under the guidance of 35 professors. The businesses profiled come from 27 countries and more than 19 industries.

These stories all demonstrate the power of business to “do well and do good” for all people and life on earth and under the sea. From stories authored by students in our own backyard at Case Western Reserve University's Weatherhead School of Management in Cleveland, Ohio to our long-time partners in Indonesia and Latin America, and our newer partners in Europe, we invite you to discover stories that show us what our world can be like when business excels, humankind flourishes, and nature thrives.

The 17 2019 Flourish Prizes Honorees will be announced in early Spring 2019.

A few weeks later, the AIM2Flourish team will host a global, multi-day, virtual celebration via social media to celebrate the 2019 Flourish Prizes. We will host live conversations, share photos and videos, and host Twitter chats — all to lift up the stories of our 2019 Flourish Prizes Finalists and Honorees. Follow #FlourishPrizes2019 on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram to be part of the global celebration.

Please take a moment with us to congratulate all of our students, professors, and business leaders who are part of the AIM2Flourish community. Together, they truly represent a commitment to Business as an Agent of World Benefit.
