On January 29th, the Fowler Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit co-sponsored the Solutions Slam of Case Western Reserve University’s inaugural Professional Development Day. The event, organized by CWRU’s Professional Development Center, was designed to provide professional development opportunities to staff, faculty, graduate students, and postdocs, improve student interfacing for faculty and staff, and increase engagement and enrollment across campus and across silos.
The Solutions Slam, inspired by the format of a poetry slam, featured teams from across the University and their creative, innovative approaches to common, complex problems that others might also be facing. The Slam was a way to share knowledge and ideas, celebrate the University’s successes and get inspired. As a sponsor, the Fowler Center introduced the audience to Business as an Agent of World Benefit and AIM2Flourish and showed the connection between the University and the UN Global Goals for Sustainable Development like Goal #4 Quality Education and Goal #8 Decent Work and Economic Growth. The Fowler Center is grateful to the Professional Development Center for the chance to sponsor this inspiring event.
