Karen Braun, PhD and professor of accountancy, was selected by Poets & Quants as a Top 50 Undergraduate Business Professor for 2018.
Braun’s ability to connect with undergraduate students in the classroom is what sets her apart. She has won the Weatherhead Undergraduate Teaching award four times during her time at Weatherhead which is won by a vote among students.
“My primary professional goal is to inspire, mentor, and guide students through their learning process, whether that be learning about accounting or learning to become an ethical professional and an upstanding, caring member of the global community,” Braun said in her Poets & Quants profile. “These awards show me that I’m on track in reaching my goal.”
Dr. Braun joined the Weatherhead School of Management in 2006 and her teaching focuses on management accounting. She is the lead author of Managerial Accounting (Fifth Addition), a textbook used at over 200 colleges and universities across the United States and Canada. Her primary research interests focus on accounting education, lean operations and sustainability.
The Poets & Quants list is now in its second year with nearly 400 submissions in 2018.
