Chris Laszlo, PhD,Weatherhead professor of organizational behavior, was the keynote speaker at the Middle East and North Africa Conference on Principles for Responsible Management Education in Dubai on November 28.
Now in its eighth year, the conference is designed to discover and design concrete initiatives and practical programs to help further work toward achieving the UN Sustainable Development Goals. Deans, faculty and students from participating schools across the Middle East and North Africa gather at Zayed University in Dubai to hear from experts and participate in hands-on workshops. The conference organizer, Professor Wasseem Abaza from Zayed University, received his PhD from Weatherhead.
“Weatherhead is taking a lead role in promoting responsible management education and sustainable practices across the globe,” Laszlo said. “Conferences like this allow us to help other universities and organizations integrate sustainability into business strategy and operations that will create value in environments around the world.”
Students at Weatherhead benefit from a focus on sustainable business practices through work with the school's Fowler Center for Business and an Agent of World Benefit. The Center's primary focus is on for-profit organizations that use their core activities to create value for society and the environment in ways that create even more value for their customers and shareholders.
Laszlo is the co-founder of Sustainable Value Partners LLC and the author of several books that have been featured as top sustainability books in the industry including Embedded Sustainability: The Next Big Competitive Advantage and Flourishing Enterprise: The New Spirit of Business.
