Fowler Center students connect with alumni

The Fowler Center Fellows, Scholars, and Staff recently gathered at Jolly Scholar for fellowship and food (two of our favorite things!) We’re happy to hear our alumni Fellows are happy, healthy, successful, and in one case engaged (congrats Eliza)!

Apart from catching up, it was a great opportunity for our current Fellows and Scholars to hear from alumni about previous Fowler Center projects, their experiences at Weatherhead, and their chosen career paths. As our current students settle on courses for next semester, it was especially helpful to hear which classes former Fellows enjoyed and used the most. For example, Alec Simon shared that the current students should take as many of the entrepreneur and design courses as possible. He found it incredibly helpful in his work at Plug and Play Tech Center, and looks forward to applying many of the lessons in a new role soon at The Manufacturing Advocacy & Growth Network: MAGNET. Other fellows were able to tell us about how they found internships and jobs after graduation that directly tied into their work at the Fowler Center. Kevin Payne, for example, enjoys his role at BrownFlynn where he has the opportunity to engage with businesses every day who want to integrate sustainability into their daily operations and improve current systems.

Thank you to all of the alumni who took time out of their busy schedules to join us. (Muyiwa happened to be in Cleveland in between consulting trips!) We look forward to getting together again soon!
