The 17 UN Sustainable Development Goals, or Global Goals, were unanimously ratified by 193 nations in September 2015 as humanity’s biggest challenges for the next 15 years. While voluntary and non-binding, the UN Global Goals are an inspiring framework for nations, communities, and businesses to end poverty and hunger, combat climate change, and protect the environment.

For the past three years, the Fowler Center has been a champion of the Goals, and Weatherhead has remained committed to innovation and sustainability through the AIM2Flourish initiative.

Launched in 2015, AIM2Flourish was the world’s first higher-education curriculum to teach students about the UN Global Goals and the power of positive and profitable business innovation to achieve them. Today, the AIM2Flourish.com website hosts more than 1,400 student-written mini-case studies of business innovations that do good and do well, all linked to the Global Goals.

Over 300 Weatherhead students have experienced the AIM2Flourish assignment and published a business innovation story on our website, as a valuable part of their Weatherhead education.

Now, we’re pleased to bring the Global Goals to the entire Weatherhead community, through the one-hour “Introducing the Global Goals” workshop. Attendees will learn about the Goals and start a conversation about how we can contribute to them through positive actions in our own lives — at home, work, and in our communities.

Our hope is that a greater understanding of the Goals will inspire the Weatherhead community for greater personal, local, and world benefit.

We look forward to the opportunity to celebrate learning and action for the Global Goals with you. For more information, please contact Katherine Gullett, Fowler Center Senior Director, at kpg11@case.edu.
