Fowler Family Fellow John Turner Reflects on his First Year at the Fowler Center

Posted 5.29.2018

It has been a great to work here at the Fowler Center this past academic year. I have had the opportunity to help the Center write its Sharing Information on Progress report for the United Nations' Principles for Responsible Management (PRME) initiative. Similarly enjoyable has been helping other students around the globe polish the stories they have written about flourishing enterprise to be published on our recently revamped Weatherhead has distinguished itself as a business school with its emphasis on Business as an Agent of World Benefit. I was very glad to start an MBA where sustainability is emphasized. In particular, I was also honored to participate in the pilot phase of a Quantum Leadership class.
This summer I will be working as a Sustainability Intern at Eaton Corporation. What I learned about in my sustainability course this year has helped me prepare for this position, as the company was looking for someone with knowledge of concepts pioneered at Weatherhead like sustainability and Appreciative Inquiry.
