Fay Cobb Payton (PhD ’97) was honored at the organization’s annual conference in November.
Alumna Fay Cobb Payton (PhD ’97) first became involved with The PhD project in 1994, when she was earning her PhD at the Weatherhead School of Management in information and decision systems. Now, almost 20 years later, she is one of three individuals inducted into the organization’s 2017 Hall of Fame.
The PhD Project is an award-winning organization that works to support and promote diversity in higher education, particularly in business schools. Dr. Payton currently serves as a professor of information systems and technology, and a University Faculty Scholar at North Carolina State University.
Dr. Payton says it’s an honor to receive the award, and to “be in the company of the other Hall of Fame inductees and members.”
The PhD Project established its Hall of Fame in 2011 to “recognize a select few who have inspired many.” Inductees show a commitment to the organization’s mission and have had an impact within its network of minority business doctoral students and faculty.
