Jodi Berg, PhD '17 and CEO and president of Vitamix, was recently named to Crain's Cleveland's 2017 Women of Note.

When people are working toward something that matters to them, instead of toward something someone else thinks they should do, they'll give it their all, she said. This is more than an inspirational idea to Berg, who wrote her Ph.D. thesis on personal and company purpose and how that interacts with engagement and work satisfaction.
Berg's "energy and passion" make a strong first impression, said Richard Boyatzis, distinguished university professor at Case Western Reserve University and Berg's thesis adviser. People leave conversations with her excited about life, he added.
"She's the real thing," Boyatzis said.
