Jess Shoop

Jess Shoop, current PhD in Management: Designing Sustainable Systems student, presented her research on the skills, behaviors and traits that characterize an effective senior leader within IT organizations at the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS) this December in Fort Worth, Texas.

"The Critical Competencies of Successful Senior IT Leaders - A Field Study" explores IT executives (leader of leaders) who report directly to the Chief Information Officer. Conducted with Kalle Lyytinen and Richard Boyatzis, Shoop interviewed 36 IT professionals using a 360-degree approach to distill which competencies define an effective leader.
