Sears think[box] spotlight

You can see this vertical axis wind turbine in action at the Case Western Reserve University Squire Valleevue Farm where it powers lighting and data acquisition systems that allow oyster mushrooms to be grown year-round. Cost, location, and performance were carefully considered in the design process to reduce dependence on grid-fed, non-renewable energy during operation. The Bingham Shop and staff aided in the machining and fabrication of the finished product.

Phase One of renovations on Sears think[box]'s new space, a 7-story, 50,000 square foot facility, will be celebrated during CWRU's Innovation Summit October 26-28, 2015. This renovation project will make think[box] one of the largest university-based innovation centers in the world.

The Larry Sears and Sally Zlotnick Sears think[box] at the Richey Mixon building is Case Western Reserve University's center for innovation. It provides a space for anyone - especially students, faculty, and alumni - to tinker and creatively invent.
