Argerie Vasilakes, MPOD ’10, introduced appreciative inquiry in the committees and task force of the Annunciation Greek Orthodox Church of Columbus, Ohio throughout the past year. Vasilakes was instrumental in helping the community discover their gifts and talents while guiding them on how these gifts could be used to support a renewed vision. This vision will help focus the church on bettering its community while ensuring its future health.
To thank Vasilakes for her sacrifice of personal time, her invaluable expertise and her personal communication skills, the Annunciation Church’s Vision Team offered her an honorarium. She refused and instead asked for it to be forwarded to the Fowler Center for Business as an Agent of World Benefit.
“Thank you sincerely for all that your program gives to your students,” the Vision Team concludes in their letter to the Fowler Center, “and congratulations for producing a citizen, a positive and optimistic shepherd.”
