Solange Charas, PhD in Management: Designing Sustainable Systems '14, discusses the importance of board diversity and steps organizations can take to improve.
Solange Charas's research as a PhD student in the Weatherhead PhD in Management: Designing Sustainable Systems analyzed why some boards soar while others flail and what companies can do to create successful teams for better financial performance.
Her research suggests that improving a team's collective intelligence, or "TQ," can increase the company's bottom-line performance. Building a team with better gender balance and one that more closely reflects a company's consumer base can contribute to increasing that company's bottom line.
