CEO of DDR Corp. to deliver keynote address at Weatherhead’s commencement

Dan Hurwitz, Weatherhead School commencement speakerThe Weatherhead School of Management is pleased to announce its 2013 commencement speaker. On Sunday, May 19, graduates and their guests will hear from Daniel B. Hurwitz, CEO of DDR Corp. (NYSE: DDR). With corporate headquarters located in Beachwood, Ohio, DDR owns and manages over 450 retail properties representing 116 million square feet in 39 states, Puerto Rico and Brazil.

Hurwitz has held various roles with DDR since he joined the company in June 1999, and was named CEO on January 1, 2010. Prior to joining DDR, he served as senior vice president and director of real estate and corporate development for Boscov’s Department Store, Inc. Before Boscov’s, Hurwitz was development director for the Shopco Group, a New York City-based developer and acquirer of regional and super regional shopping malls.

Among other honors, Hurwitz has been named to Institutional Investor magazine's 2013 All-America Executive Team, voted on by the sell-side analyst community as the Best CEO in the Real Estate Investment Trust sector.

In addition to serving as a member of Weatherhead’s visiting committee, Hurwitz is a member of the Colgate University board of trustees, a member of the board of trustees of Hawken School, chairman of the Leadership Council for the Neurological Institute at the Cleveland Clinic, and a member of the board of directors of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and Museum.

Hurwitz is a graduate of Colgate University and the Wharton School of Business Management Program at the University of Pennsylvania.
