A new art therapy exhibit titled "Illusion Delusion" is on display at the Peter B. Lewis Building March 29 to May 1. In celebration of the five year anniversary of the art therapy program for individuals sponsored by Ascentia:  Pathways to Community Living, a program of the Jewish Family Services Association, art groups explored optical illusions and sought to distinguish between reality and illusion.

Through the art therapy process, clients participated in open group sessions and worked on a variety of projects, including the showcased optical illusions exhibit. Throughout this project, clients gained a sense of insight into their own meaning of art and projected their own perceptions and delusions into their artistic creations, evoking feelings of suprise, delight, and even humor. The artistic expressions of the artists are an important component in their treatment plan; a plan that will lead to an improvement in their quality of life. By sharing this life-enhancing experience, others who live with mental illness also can be inspired.

The Weatherhead Schoolis fortunate to be able to share this art exhibit with the rest of the community. Don't miss this wonderful exhibit of truly talented artists!

Exhibit hours are as follows:

Monday to Thursday -- 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Friday -- 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.
Saturday -- 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
