Abstract
Donaldson Brown developed and expanded the ROI (Return on Investment) metric or the so called DuPont Formula in l914. It was not his only contribution to financial management as he instituted many other reports and controls which advanced the control systems and reporting of large multi-divisional firms, especially General Motors for the decades he was involved as a senior executive.
