Abstract
The first African American to be inducted into the Accounting Hall of Fame <br>[est. 1950]William (Bill) Campfield, earned his PHD at the University of Illinois and spent his career in public service in Federal Accounting Agencies, rising to the executive level in the Government Accountability Office. His research was widely published as well in academic and practice journals. He was a visiting professor and after government service, a full time professor.
