Abstract
This paper offers exploratory evidence about faculty attending the American Accounting Association’s Doctoral Consortium. The profile of these socialization agents suggests that a very narrow, very select view of accounting research is being offered to U.S. doctoral students. Implications for academic careers and the accounting discipline are drawn.
