EMAIL SUBJECT LINE: Training Request: Leadership Lab for Women in STEM™
Dear <addressee: Human Resources Manager, CEO, etc.>,
As you know, it is essential to the continued success of <name of your company or department> that employees are well-trained for the industry and continually develop their skills. This is becoming increasingly more important for women in our industry as, according to many studies, women leave the workforce, especially STEM professions, at higher rates than men. <you may want to customize this first sentence based on your unique needs>
Case Western Reserve University’s Weatherhead School of Management offers an executive education program specifically designed for women in STEM careers. The program I am interested in attending is the Leadership Lab for Women in STEM™. The class schedule runs for eight days, spread out over three sessions, in June through September. The first session begins June 20, 2017.
Why Weatherhead? Case Western Reserve University’s strengths in science, technology, engineering and mathematics form a natural foundation for studying the female experience in STEM fields. Also, the Leadership Lab faculty have each conducted extensive research on what works to keep women in STEM professions. These instructors are part of Weatherhead’s organizational behavior department and are considered among the best in the world.
Attending this program will enable me to identify strategic applications for growing <my department and the company as a whole>, develop critical competencies for career development and network with other women in STEM fields. It will also guide me in articulating a personal leadership vision, which research supports as a powerful way to increase career engagement and commitment, and maximize contribution and satisfaction in my role.
