Self-Care Strategies

This one-day workshop focuses on effective strategies to combat compassion fatigue and burnout prevalent in the helping fields such as youth work. Self-care refers to intentional action towards addressing the emotional impact of secondary trauma and stress. This session will explore research-based practices and strategies that strengthen individual approaches in stress reduction while identifying individual self-care strategies to enhance resilience.

This workshop aligns with core knowledge and competencies for youth work professionals that have been developed by the National Afterschool Association (NAA) and the Ohio Afterschool Network (OAN).
