Emily develops emotional and social capabilities to help managers lead through uncertainty, create sustainable change, and foster trusting relationships with others.

Coaching Philosophy and Experience

Emily is an experienced coach with a focus on helping clients to create positive sustainable change. She comes to the coaching relationship with the desire to motivate managers to achieve their goals and future vision. By creating trust-based relationships Emily enables managers to comfortably discuss organizational and interpersonal challenges and develop effective strategies to overcome such challenges and reframe them as opportunities.

Certified in the Emotional and Social Competencies Inventory (ESCI), Emily helps clients increase their interpersonal effectiveness by first building on their core strengths and then deepening their under-utilized competencies. By developing competencies such as conflict management, teamwork, empathy, influence, optimism, self-confidence, self-awareness and self-control, Emily helps clients to create trusting relationships with others, lead through uncertainty and change, and reach beyond their limits to attain excellence.

Emily has coached managers, consultants and individual contributors in Weatherhead’s Leadership Assessment and Development (LEAD) and Masters in Positive Organizational Development (MPOD) programs. In addition to being an executive coach Emily has experience working in a variety of organizational capacities including: talent management, organizational learning, organizational development, and human resources. She has worked in the financial, entertainment and education industries, including such companies as Citigroup, HBO and the Blue Man Group.

Education and Research Interests

Emily is presently pursuing a Ph.D. in Organizational Behavior at the Weatherhead School of Management and has a B.A. in psychology from Yeshiva University. Emily’s research interests are in the areas of interpersonal relations, individual and organizational resiliency, and managing organizational change. She is currently researching the effects of the global economic crisis and how employees’ sense of job security influence performance, trust in the organization and positive and negative behaviors at work.
