Managers as Designers

Practicing Daily Innovation

Every day, managers can contribute to the innovation of their organizations in fundamental ways, by creating and improving processes, structures, products and services. To be a driving force within organizations managers need to expand their role from conventional analyzers and decision-makers to creative designers. Although managers’ skills as designers often determine the success or failure of their organizations, we give very little attention to developing design skills. This seminar builds on the realization that managers are deeply engaged in design as part of their everyday work, and helps participants contribute to their organizations in significant ways through design thinking approaches and techniques.
