Virtual Teams and Business Networks: Working in the Wired Worldhttps://weatherhead.case.edu/events/detail?eid=355Managers and workers in many organizations today spend as much or more time communicating with remote colleagues as with the people in adjacent offices. Globalization, outsourcing, lean supply chain management, and flattened organizational hierarchies drive the trend. More and more workers are members of virtual teams, collaborating across distance, time, and organizational boundaries, supported by a variety of information and communication technologies.
This interactive workshop, introduces participants to strategies for creating and operating strong virtual teams. Participants will explore techniques for getting a positive start, and technologies and social practices for staying connected. In addition, attendees learn the analytic frameworks for identifying potential problems before they occur, and strategies for maintaining momentum once a project is underway.
