Free Lunch

[Text of DesFrances DiDonato, Project Manager for the City of Cleveland's Sustainability Office, will be speaking for the first Net Impact lunch for the semester. Free Lunch will be provided and the event will be held in the BAWB on the second-floor of PBL. More information about Fran and her work as Project Manager are listed below.

Ms. DiDonato works in the Office of Sustainability for the City of Cleveland as a Project Manager. Her main focus is in the practice areas of Community Health & Environment and Waste Reduction & Recycling where she works on the development and implementation of both projects and policy.

She is a member of the City of Cleveland’s Stormwater Steering Committee and works closely with the Project Manager to implement the Stormwater Management Plan. Ms. DiDonato helps to coordinate recycling efforts with internal City operations and external residential and commercial waste collection. She manages City’s efforts to minimize its carbon footprint through membership in ICLEI. She is also on the task force that is charged with calculating the City of Cleveland’s carbon footprint. She was instrumental in creating and developing the Cleveland Conserves Campaign to help Cleveland reduce energy usage by City employees by 10% by 2010. Previously, Ms. DiDonato worked in the City of Cleveland’s Department of Law as an Assistant Director of Law for the Health, Environment & Public Utilities Section.

Ms. DiDonato earned her B.A. from Boston University, double majoring in International Relations and Latin American Studies. She received her law degree from the University of Texas at Austin. Upon graduation, she moved to Cleveland and became a licensed attorney. cription]
