D&I Research Seminar by Joel Cutcher-Gershenfeldhttps://weatherhead.case.edu/events/2016/12/16/di-research-seminar-by-joel-cutcher-gershenfeldAbstract:
The exponential rates of change in digital communication and digital computation have been both transformational and disruptive in society. A third digital revolution is coming, digital fabrication, which also shows early signs of exponential rates of change. This is now a crucial time for dialogue and stakeholder alignment on deeply embedded assumptions -- while the technology is still in its early growth stages. This talk will feature a model for stakeholder alignment with respect to technologies showing signs of exponential change. The talk draws on a forthcoming book (Basic Books, 2017) coauthored by Neil Gershenfeld, Alan Gershenfeld, and Joel Cutcher-Gershenfeld.
