Design & Innovation Research Seminar

Posthuman Systems

Sensors, data, and  algorithms are together driving the emergence of posthumans, entities that appear to be, and maybe are, intelligent. In such a world, our theories of information systems are challenged. Instead of people using computers, computers are using people. This talk will look at the forces behind the emergence of posthumans, and the implications for both theory and practice. In particular, the role of crowds and ensembles will be discussed in relation to the governance of companies.
