Revitalizing the Mature Organization

Mature organizations create the greatest brands – but this privileged status is often accompanied by organizational complacency, vulnerability to new entrants and disruptive technologies, and incremental quality improvements. Many firms often get lulled into a false sense of security because business is in fact good. However, many mature firms operate in a climate of market saturation and excessive production capacity. As such, market growth rate slows down – leaving the mature firm unable to launch radical innovations needed to sustain marketability. Entrepreneurship is gaining a foothold because they are more sensitive, agile and responsive to customer needs. Established firms will struggle against market forces to remain relevant and competitive. Long-term survival requires a continual focus on renewal (revitalization) through innovation and transformational strategies. This program will help participants begin to construct the components of a revitalization strategy for their own organizations. Using a combination of presentations, video-based learning, small group exercises and discussion, participants will learn tools and techniques to assess their current environment and design transformation efforts for new growth.
