Creating Careers of Impact for Women in Healthcare Leadershiphttps://weatherhead.case.edu/events/2008/06/11/creating-careers-of-impact-for-women-in-healthcare-leadership
Given women's predominance in healthcare, one question of critical importance is whether women are exercising their considerable leadership potential. This program will focus on identifying effective leadership and successful career advancement strategies to maximize personal and professional contributions. Healthcare is one of the fastest growing industries in the world today. Women represent the majority group in the provider sector of healthcare, comprising 76.6% of those employed in hospitals and 78.6% of those employed in health service areas outside of the hospital venue (Bureau of Labor Statistics). Additionally, albeit not in such high numbers, women are in the bioscience sector as scientists, saleswomen, managers and business owners, developing and disseminating devices, supplies and pharmaceuticals.
