International Management Institute

Case Westen Reserve University students can explore the world of business around the globe while earning three credit hours! Currently, Weatherhead leads three offerings of MGMT 315, rotating among exchange partners in Frankfurt, Germany; Strasbourg, France; and Shanghai, China. All programs begin with pre-sessions held during the spring semester at CWRU before departure for the host country following the completion of spring final exams. We purposely run the program the two weeks following spring finals so that students are able to return in time to participate in full summer internships. The programs are conducted entirely in English, but students have the opportunity to learn a little of the language while abroad. Students must be in good academic standing to participate, but there are no prerequisites and students can be pursuing any major at Case Western Reserve. Students may participate in and earn credit for all three offerings (up to nine credit hours).

Estimated Costs

We strive to keep the program costs to a minimum—$1,500 or less—not including the cost of airfare or most meals. Students make their own flight arrangements so they can take advantage of any discounts they may have and so they may choose airports convenient to where they will be before and after the program. Even though students travel after the spring semester, they register for the course as part of their spring load; therefore, there is no additional tuition expense associated with the class (unless a student is enrolled in less than 12 credit hours). The program cost typically includes hotel, airport transportation, local transportation, fees for professional and cultural visits, and the weekend trip (transportation, hotel, and any prearranged activities/visits). International students are welcome to participate in MGMT 315, but if a visa is required it is the responsibility of the student to obtain the necessary visa. We will assist with documents required for visa processing.
