A number of teaching assistantship (TA) and research assistantship (RA) opportunities are available for our doctoral students to gain additional experience. Receiving a tuition waiver for the full four years of the doctorate depends on the fulfillment of these TA or RA responsibilities.
Other opportunities may also appeal to students. Recently, doctoral candidates have worked in instructional development, international travel for scholarly inquiry into innovative organizing practices, group facilitation, and executive coaching in leadership development programs with organizations like University Hospitals, Cleveland Clinic, Sherwin-Williams and Alcoa.Students are also encouraged to undertake independent projects to further illuminate their research questions and expand their areas of interest. These projects may be interdisciplinary and may involve collaborating with faculty in other departments or schools. Previous projects have been undertaken with the assistance of faculty in entrepreneurship, psychology, social work, sociology, political science, coginitive science, anthropology, school of nursing, dental and medicine.
